ABOUT/CV – IVAR BUSK

I have many years of experience in the aviation industry. Initially as an aircraft engineer with Scandinavian Airline Systems (SAS) when they were still operating propeller aircrafts (CV440).
Later, I worked with the development of the maintenance planning system, and from 1982 I became head of SAS airside safety worldwide.

I undertook training as an aircraft accident investigator at FAA’s School in Oklahoma City, and received my human factors degree and safety management training certificate from the University of Southern California. I also became responsible for all SAS insurance claims and have handled more the 1000 cases, including some as an “expert witness”.

For the past 10 years, I have also been manager at SAS corporate insurance – including claims issues among others. I have been a member of the – IATA ASG – since 1992, helping in the development of their Airport Handling Manual.

I also hold a commercial business degree from the Copenhagen Business School.

My aim is to use my knowledge and experience in my own consulting company – Aviation Care Consulting – ACC.
